Thanks for the Orson Welles special, Greg. He truly was one of the brightest stars in radio and did it at such a relatively young age! The photos are a welcome addition, as well. I have never seen pictures of William Conrad during his radio days. Before I got XM I only knew of him from when he was on "Cannon" and not in nearly as good of shape as when he played Matt Dillon. No mistaking that voice, though! One of the few personalities who have that "voice" such as Orson Welles and James Earl Jones. On Orson Welles, again, I can remember how much my Grandmother loved The Third Man. How long did that run and do you have all of the episodes? I enjoy it, as well. Could you also refresh our memories on the musician's name who played the zither? The music is so uniqe.

Brett, I have about a dozen Third Man episodes. The series was produced in Europe in 1951 and 52 and then syndicated in the US in 1952. A total of 52 shows were produced. Believe it or not, I just answered an email from someone who said, Orson Welles was one of the most overrated actors to come out of Hollywood. Needless to say, I didn't hesitate to correct him on a few things, including how wrong I felt he was. Oh well, at least most of us know how great he was right?! Greg.

That is indeed a great site on the Gunsmoke radio program. Gunsmoke is my second favorite show on XM-164 ... second only to the incomparable Fibber Mcgee & Molly. I drive a truck long-haul, so the radio is my very good friend, and it is no challenge to visualize Matt Dillon walking into the saloon and leaning on the bar, using his forefinger to pull down the brim of his hat to say, hello to Miss Kitty. I just wish I could get my kids to get involved in listening to radio dramas and sit-coms. I think they would enjoy it as much as I do. Keep up the good work, love the blog site.

I am not much of a guy who thinks in so deeply about web design but I think your post had some valid points in it. Like designers are forced to design stuff within the limited code available and not go beyond it, their innovation is somewhat limited but still I think Web Design won't die! I agree that Amazon and other some big sites won't have a blog but now a days it's very important to have some sort of option available so people can quickly communicate their thoughts. I think Amazon if wants to shift it to that, they can get a customized CMS for themselves.
